The house

Built in 1876,
gently
persuaded.

A merchant's house with thick stone walls, green shutters, and a courtyard that has held the same lemon tree for longer than anyone can prove. We spent two years restoring it and changed as little as the building would allow.

There's no reception desk, no minibar, and no television anywhere in the building. There is coffee from six, a small pool under the fig tree, and someone who knows which beach will be empty on a Saturday.

Courtyard at Casa Palma
Included

What comes
with the room.

Breakfast

Served until eleven in the courtyard. Bread from the bakery on Carrer de sa Lluna, fruit from the valley, eggs however you like them.

The pool

Small, cold, and shaded by a fig tree. Towels are in the cabinet and nobody reserves a lounger here.

Bikes

Six of them, free to borrow. The flat ride to the port takes about twenty minutes and is worth doing at least once at dusk.

Local knowledge

Ana will tell you which restaurants are worth it, which beach is empty on a Saturday, and which mountain road is closed this week.

Sóller

Around here.

A valley of orange groves between the Tramuntana mountains and the sea, twenty-five minutes over the pass from Palma.

★★★★★
“We came for three nights and changed our flights to stay six. The courtyard at breakfast is the single best thing about Mallorca.”

“Six rooms means they know your name by the second morning. Ana sent us to a beach we'd never have found and it was empty in August.”

“No television, no minibar, no noise. I slept better in that stone room than I have in years and I'm still thinking about the bread.”
